Welcome to the Resurrection Program in Emergency Medicine. We are a community hospital PGY 1-3 program in Chicago with 39 Emergency Medicine residents. Established in 1996, the program conforms to all requirements specified by the ACGME and is fully accredited through 2018.

Our mission is to train superb physicians who are prepared for the clinical, academic and administrative challenges involved in being an Emergency Medicine physician in the 21st Century. The program meets this mission by providing a dedicated, residency trained and board certified faculty consisting of attendings with diverse interests in all areas of the specialty. Each faculty member has dedicated time for journal clubs, lectures, and research.

The residents encounter a unique and diverse patient population through the different hospitals in which they rotate. Our combined Emergency Department census exceeds 100,000 patient encounters, a high percentage of which are critically ill. This provides ample opportunity for procedures and resuscitations for residents at all levels of training. Our residents become proficient in the use of ultrasound, and an ultrasound fellowship is offered at Resurrection Medical Center.

The cornerstone of success for Emergency Medicine training is obtaining the knowledge, comfort, and expertise to practice in this field. We wish you the best in your career. Thank you for your interest in our program.

Sincerely,

Marc Dorfman, MD, FACEP
Program Director
